The weather conditions for the August Medal were quite breezy. The course is in great condition as is often the case at this time of year, the greens over the past few weeks have been a revelation.

In Div. 1 David Holt took the course apart and showed some of his old form with a superb sub par 68 - 5 = 63. In 2nd place and over the horrors of the Chronicle Cup was Gary Elds with another great score of 71 - 6 = 65. In Div. 2 it was the earlier players who played in the more difficult conditions who took the honours. In 1st place with 79 - 14 = 65 was Paul Collier playing some relaxed golf most possibly due to him having joined the ranks of the retired. In 2nd place and another new name on my list was Elliot Burge with a score of 79 - 12 = 67. Div. 3 Had Dave Ward romping home in 1st place with 82 - 16 = 66 and Alan Hammond playing a very steady round with 88 - 19 = 69 just beating Colin Chapman who also had a 69 but lost out on the back nine.
