The Caledonian Cup took place the last Sunday in August. This is a Better Ball Pairs Medal event which had a good field and even the weather failed to put a damper on things.

Some excellent scores were recorded and it was one of the more mature partnerships of Bill Gibson & Derek Holt who well and truly flattened the field with a Net 58 to win the trophy. They had a four shot cushion over the nearest rivals who came in with net 62. Three pairs had the same score and it took a card playoff to decide the placings. After the count back 2^nd place was awarded to Derek Roy lance & Jon Slack, with John Burrows & Peter Taylor taking 3^rd place and Peter Pierce & Mike (Doc) Sumner the 4^th and final prize.

The next big event will be Finals day on 21^st September when the various Knock-Out Competitions will be concluded.
