The Astbury Jewel Trophy Competition was founded in 2000.

A Gents 36 Hole Scratch Medal competition played from the white tees, the field is limited to 63 players with a maximum handicap limit 5.

Entry fee per person is £30.00 which includes a light lunch with a hot meal at the end of play.

LOCAL RULES:

NO PENALTY

  1. A ball hitting overhead cables or supporting post must be replayed - Rule 20-5

  2. A ball lying on ground disturbed by tractors or any other machinery can be treated as Ground Under Repair  Rule 25-1

  3. A ball lying in its own plug mark (except in a hazard), may be lifted, cleaned and dropped no nearer the hole as near as possible to its        original position  Rule 25-2

  4. A stone interfering with the play of a stroke in a bunker may be removed  Rule 24-1

  5. Fixed sprinkler heads are immovable objects and relief may be sought under Rule 24-2.

  6. If young staked trees interfere with a players stance or intended swing, a ball must be lifted and dropped within one club-length at the nearest point of relief but no nearer the hole.  Rule 24-2.

  7. If a ball comes to rest on an aeration hole, relief may be sought under Rule App.1.B.8

  8. All paths are treated as immovable obstructions and relief taken under Rule 24-2

  9. A ball lying in or on any drainage ditches, grids or channels may be lifted and dropped within one club length no nearer the hole  Rule 25-1b

  10. When playing the 3rd hole, the OOB posts for the 12th hole are immovable obstructions and relief may be taken under Rule 24-2.

  11. All bridges are immovable obstructions and relief is obtainable under Rule 24-2.

 

OUT OF BOUNDS

  1. A ball lying beyond any hedge or fence, on or over any line, or over any white strip defining the boundaries of the course.

  2. A ball lying on the car parks, or on or over the roadway behind the 18th green

  3. 10th Hole, a ball lying in or over the ditch to the left of the 10th fairway.

  4. 12th Hole, a ball lying in or over the trench to the left of the path leading towards the ladies tee, and a ball lying on or to the right of the line between the white posts. n.b. single white posts to the left of the 3rd fairway define the extent of the Out of Bounds

  5. A ball struck into or over the canal.

 

GENERAL COMPETITION RULES

  1. We have allowed competitors 5 hours 15 minutes between Tee-Off times. These times are subject to improvement therefore competitors are asked to verify tee of times with the Starters Office.

  2. SLOW PLAY will be penalised. Cards will be timed in. The first match to exceed 4 hours 15 minutes will be liable to incur a 1 stroke penalty for each player. Subsequent matches will be scrutinised for slow play

  3. Details of any Play-Off will be obtained from the Starters Office

  4. Play-Off holes will be 1st and 2nd on a sudden death basis.

  5. Prize Presentation will follow immediately we have a result.
