Familiar Faces dominate Ladies 2nd Open 2010

The sun continued to shine on Astbury Golf Club as the Ladies Section held their second Open of the year last Wednesday, 30th June. The course was in lovely condition with lots of roll on the ball and the greens firm and slick.

Over 140 ladies played in the warm sunshine and were glad of the slight breeze. Over 30 clubs were represented and the day flowed like clockwork. Sue Foden organised the competition ably assisted by the ladies of Astbury, manning the front desk and some Senior gentlemen ensuring the ladies all teed off at the correct time. Helen Marsh was in charge of checking all the cards and some wonderful scores were recorded.

Results were as follows:
1st  Kelly Morley Astbury,Emma-Jayne Bolshaw Prestbury, Shirley Naden Lamb Tytherington

In the evening, Lady Captain Sue Bentley welcomed many of the visitors to the presentation. She thanked all those who had helped to make the day run so smoothly, and was glad to be able to speak after being struck down with laryngitis for the previous Open.
