Having a family that play golf it was natural for me to start playing early, having played as a small child and taking the game up at the age of 7. I have always played my golf at Onneley golf club and still continue my membership 13 years later. I have been lucky enough to see a lot of the golf world in a fast and furious start to my career.
I started out working at Barlaston golf club where I was able to learn the workings of a pro shop and found a real taste for the work I would be doing, should I want to chase this opportunity. From here I moved to American golf where I learnt a totally different side to golf and all about the retail aspect of the game. Through American golf I won an incentive that gave me an all expenses paid trip to the masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia. This was a wonderful opportunity for me to see one of the greatest majors, up close and personal. The highlight of which was seeing Sergio Garcia hole the putt on the first play off hole to win. I was able to learn so much from the team at American golf that it really opened up opportunity’s for me to progress within the golf world.
At Astbury Golf Club my biggest aim is to be a relatable and fun member of the team. I hope that members can ask me about anything golf related and get the help they need while having a good laugh in the process. I hope that my knowledge on custom fitting will continue to grow and it is always there for members to ask and for them to learn from too. I really look forward to seeing what I can grow and what I can expand on what I already know. I look forward to helping as much as I can.
In the future I hope to progress down the route of the PGA degree so that I can start teaching. This will be another challenge as there is so much to learn and more for me to develop and progress. Having Neil as my Professional, with his wealth of qualifications & knowledge, gives me a great opportunity to learn and was a massive reason for me to come to Astbury.
