Help with password protected Member's Area

AGC have implemented a simple password protection for the members area of the web site in order to protect information that should be easily available to members but protected from outsiders. The password is the same as for the RESULTS page from Handicap Master.

If you are having problems with your browser showing the password prompt then it is likely that you have a blocking security setting in your browser or desk top security application ( McAffee, Norton, Kaspersky or similar) . In all circumstances seen so far you may not be noticing that the browser is offering you the ability "to override its security for this web site only - it may explain that the site is attempting to run some javascript ". The prompt will likely to be at the top or bottom of the browser window. If you allow this for this site only ( i.e. Astbury Web Site then you should be able to see the password prompt and you will not be compromising your Web browsing security.

Email p.s.collier@homecall.co.uk if this doesn't work for you or raises any issues.

Help with Results page access.

This is an update for those members who are having usability issues when using the RESULTS page on the web site from www.masterscoreboard.co.uk . The problem  seems to only apply to those who use Internet Explorer ; and not all versions. We are investigating why this has become a problem but for now try this.

If you get repeated requests to enter the password you should try the following; which seems to work  :-

Add http://www.masterscoreboard.co.uk to the TRUSTED sites in your browser. Do this as follows...

a) Select Tools from top menus in Internet Explorer

b) Click on Internet Options at the bottom of the list

c) Click on the SECURITY Tab, Click on the Green Tick for Trusted sites, Click on the Sites Button.

d) Type or copy and paste  http://www.masterscoreboard.co.uk into the add this website.....box at the top

e) untick the box require server authentication for all sites in this zone

f) Click the Add button and then Close the box and exit from the Tools menu back to internet explorer.

g) You will be asked if you trust masterscoreboard when you use RESULTS but you shoudln't be repeatedly asked for the password. Let me know if you do on p.s.collier@homecall.co,uk
