The area of the Public Pathway crossing Holes 9, as defined by four BLUE STAKES, is treated as an immovable obstruction from which free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1.
Due to the poor condition of the Public Pathway crossing the 9th Hole, and to seek to avoid interference with fair play, the Committee has designated the fairway crossing as an immovable obstruction from which optional free relief is allowed under Rule 16.1. (ie. Drop within one club length of the nearest point of complete relief, not nearer the hole, taking complete relief from all interference by the blue staked path). Relief may only be taken from the area between the 4 Blue Stakes; the edge of the area being defined by the line taken from the outside points of the stakes at ground level, and the stakes are inside the immovable obstruction.
Not applicable at Hole 6.
All areas of the course covered with ‘Grass Germinating Membrane’ are deemed as temporary Ground Under Repair. The player may take relief under Rule 16.1.
All players are asked to take care when retrieving a golf ball lying on or adjacent to the membrane matting, as it is prone to tearing; DO NOT stand on the membrane.
From Friday 1st May 2026 - NO Winter Rules in play (ie No Preferred Lies - ball to be played as it lies).
