Established in 1922, with our Centenary year in 2022, Astbury is a picturesque yet testing parkland course situated amongst the beautiful South Cheshire countryside. The easy to walk course comprises sweeping tree lined fairways, and, uniquely, the historic Macclesfield canal, which gently flows along dividing the layout.
Hand in hand with our investment in the very best machinery, materials and greens staff we are now entering our 6th year of significant investment into enhancing the course design and playability - with over 24 redesigned and reconstructed bunkers, new paths, tees and course drainage. Our greens are the best they’ve ever been, thanks to a concerted investment programme of deep aeration, feeding and grass care. The positive feedback we receive from visitors to our course, and our increase in new members, is the very best measure of that success.

Apart from the course, Astbury prides itself on an inclusive, friendly atmosphere, and warmly welcomes new members, visitors and societies. A busy competition and social calendar ensures members get the most out of the Club.
The signature hole for the golf course is the 12th, shown below, looking back from the green, which is a strong par 5 requiring a long carry over a ravine from the tee. It is closely rivalled by the 3rd which is a par 5 in the opposite direction. Water comes into play on 7 holes, and the course is an easy walk with just a few slopes in the terrain to provide a good test of your short game.
