Welcome to Astbury Golf Club. Established in 1922, with a very successful Centenary year in 2022, Astbury is a picturesque yet testing parkland course situated amongst the beautiful South Cheshire countryside. The easy to walk course comprises sweeping tree lined fairways, and, uniquely, the historic Macclesfield canal, which gently flows along dividing the layout. In 2023 we have been voted the 19th best course in Cheshire, something that we are very proud to achieve, given the quality of clubs in the Cheshire area. We're not stopping there, though, as as we turn our attention in 2023/2024 to the Clubhouse and Facilities evolving the club to meet expectations of our members and visitors.
Top Quality Park Land Golf

Hand in hand with our investment in the very best machinery, materials and greens staff we are now entering our 8th year of significant investment into enhancing the course design and playability - with over 28 redesigned and reconstructed bunkers, new paths, tees and course drainage. Our greens are the best they’ve ever been throughout the year, thanks to a concerted investment programme of deep aeration, feeding and grass care. The positive feedback we receive from visitors to our course, and our increase in new members, is the very best measure of that success. There is no better accolade then to be able to say that in 2022 (our Centenary Year) we were very proud to be the hosts for the Cheshire County Men's and Senior's Match Play Finals.

In 2023 we have been voted 19th best Golf Course in Cheshire in the UK's TOP 100 -

Great Layout

The signature hole for the golf course is the 12th, which is a strong par 5 requiring a long carry over a ravine from the tee. It is closely rivalled by the 3rd which is a par 5 in the opposite direction and the 18th with a double dog leg. Water comes into play on 7 holes, and the course is an easy walk with just a few slopes in the terrain to provide a good test of your short game.

The 100 Years of Astbury - A celebration

In 2021 the club ran a centenary fund to celebrate our Centenary Year in 2022 - welcoming voluntary donations from members - this reached an impressive total close to £ 50,000. The overall project is now completed, Phase 1 redesigned the 1st tee area with Dry Stone dwarf walls, an impressive central planter, with a centenary commemorative stone plaque and improved overall walkway.
Phase 2 (again funded from donations), delivered a huge improvement to the 18th Tee walkoff, with new glass balustrade around the patio (upstairs and down), a continuance of the dry stone wall around the putting green and a new shoe & trolley clean off area.
Members and visitors alike are delighted with the results.
